I've heard great reviews on both brushes. I'll be using them for contouring, highlighting, (sometimes bronzer and blush) and pressed powder foundation and i just wanted to know which one will be better suited for the job(s). It's really important to me that these brushes are eco-friendly and cruelty free, so unless there is another amazing brand that manufactures their brushes under these guidelines, i'd prefer to stick to these two brands as my options. Both brushes are cruelty free and environmentally friendly, and are also of great quality. I use both and while they are both super soft and don't shed, I find they are good for different purposes. Everyday minerals, being a mineral foundation company, makes their brushes specially for mineral make up users. They have products such as the domed and flat top kabuki which is great for buffing in powders. I use it for my pressed powder foundation and it works great to blend in the formula. Ecotools offers powder and blush brushes which work great too. The powder brush is great for dusting on finishing powder, but i've also used it for my mineral make up and its worked fine. The ecotools blush brush is a little smaller than i prefer, but it's great because you can use it both as a blusher and for contouring. Everyday minerals also has an angled blush brush that serves both purposes.
In my opinion, it all comes down to whether or not your using mineral makeup. Although the ecotools does work well with mineral makeup, the everyday minerals brushes are probably better suited for it since it it made specially for mineral users. Or you can even mix and match: use the everyday minerals kabuki and angled blush brush for finishing power and blush, and the ecotools powder brush for finishing powder and bronzer. They're both good brands. Both brushes have natural handles and synthetic fibers except Ecotools really promotes their brand as a all natural line. I really like the everyday minerals flat top brush.

right now i'm using physicians formula mineral concealor, %26amp; foundation. i liked it at first, but not i feel like i'm not getting enough coverage. i have acne prone skin, so i want to use a mineral foundation. i don't have many bumps anymore, but i have a lot of red spots left over from my acne. i heard good thinks about everyday minerals so i was going to try the free sample. i was just wondering if those of you who use or have used everyday minerals liked it. did it give good coverage? did it make you break out? any experience is appreciated.

i bought the samples and use them, the color i picked matched my skin perfectly and had fairly good coverage and the concealer is amazing!! it is my most favorite concealer ever. I tried it until i was out of my sample which was about 3 days, overall i would say it is ok and a good price. to me personally it made my skin feel a little cakey and dry although it did not look it and i always put moisturizer on before i put on my makeup and i also dont have dry skin. But overall try out the sample pack and if it works for you definitely use it,

I actually use the Loreal brand of minerals, and it's wonderful! I have acne prone skin also, and i can only use a certain facewash(neutrogena grapefruit wash, which is great too! and they just came out with a new chamomile wash.) but, you're not asking about facewash, you're asking about the minerals. :) I absolutely love the loreal minerals, they come in so many different shades, and they work as a cover up also if you dip your finger in just a teeny bit and dot it onto the red spot, it will cover it before you use the brush to swirl the rest on your face. I'm not sure about the everyday minerals, but i will swear by the loreal brand! hope this helps!

Everyday minerals product still hasn't shipped!!?
I ordered Everyday Minerals products on Dec 9 at 9PM, it is now Dec 13th it just says Order Packed, it doesn't say whether it has shipped or not yet, it hasn't given me a tracking number for my order either, they already took the money out of my bank account...when will it ship?Everyday minerals product still hasn't shipped!!?

Getting a full sized Everyday Minerals kit... what blush would suit my skin tone?
My match is Fair Neutral, and I want to wear a nice blush, but it's hard to tell what won't be too dark. I tried Morning Cup, and although it isn't bad, I definitely don't think it looks great for anything other than contour.

I looked SUPER washed out, and it was obvious that I was wearing a ton of powder. And my face was about a shade and a half lighter than my neck. I didn't like it very much.

I am new to Everyday Minerals and would like some suggestions as to which samples to try.

I'm hapa and I use medium beige. I tried the sandy beige which was just a little too dark and the golden one looked really bad on me, it was way too yellow. If you have lighter, creamier medium skin I would suggest the medium beige. If you have really strong yellow undertones, try the golden olive color. Otherwise if you're a neutral darker medium I would suggest the sandy beige. With the 5 piece sample kit you can try all 3 of those colors. I really like the intensive concealer in medium and the blush called theme park. The concealer really works well for me and the color of the blush really compliments my skin tone. When I run out of the samples I'm going to order more and probably try a lot more colors of concealer and blush. One thing about the everyday minerals though that I would suggest is to try 3 different finishes along with the colors. I thought I would really like the intensive and matte better than the semi-matte, but it was exactly the opposite. I found the matte and intensive to be too heavy and the semi-matte looked perfect on me. Everyday Minerals for Asian skintones?
i use a bronzer mineral from laura mercier. i find that it just gives a nice glow to my complexion. the range also does a mineral in light and dark.. so u can build up the colour depending on your skin tone. however although it is really good ..it is very pricey. the best way to find what you are looking for is to go to a large department store so you can ask the make up assistants to help u choose one and apply it on, so you can find one that is suitable for ur skin.
G, while I don't have any experience w/the brand you mentioned, I do have lots of it w/aularale.com/7002. It matches the undertones in your skin for a perfect color match. You'll find it's very light in weight. Choose the shade the model is wearing whose complexion most closely matches your own. I suggest using the medium loose translucent powder for setting your face and for touch ups during the day. You'll also find pretty cheek colors and a great cover stick (dark)

I thought I would really like the intensive and matte better than the semi-matte, but it was exactly the opposite. I found the matte and intensive to be too heavy and the semi-matte looked perfect on me. Everyday Minerals for Asian skintones?
i use a bronzer mineral from laura mercier. i find that it just gives a nice glow to my complexion. the range also does a mineral in light and dark.. so u can build up the colour depending on your skin tone. however although it is really good ..it is very pricey. the best way to find what you are looking for is to go to a large department store so you can ask the make up assistants to help u choose one and apply it on, so you can find one that is suitable for ur skin.
G, while I don't have any experience w/the brand you mentioned, I do have lots of it w/aularale.com/7002. It matches the undertones in your skin for a perfect color match. You'll find it's very light in weight. Choose the shade the model is wearing whose complexion most closely matches your own. I suggest using the medium loose translucent powder for setting your face and for touch ups during the day. You'll also find pretty cheek colors and a great cover stick (dark)

beige light medium, it is very flattering and your skin tone is quite light. beige is great for lighter tones, just dont get the lightest one!

I really love this Bare Minerals makeup! I used to have problems with cake and liquid foundations where the area around my nose would always get flaky and gross after applying the makeup even when I used moisturizer first! Bare Minerals does not flake like that on me.
I recommend buying the $65 (or whatever the cost is where you buy it) starter kit. It comes with 2 foundations and warmth and mineral veil plus a few brushes. In my opinion, you can probably do without the Mineral Veil and Warmth (unless you love them) and just keep purchasing your preferred foundation color when your kit runs out. Also, the concealer brush is wonderful for applying eye shadow.
I was apprehensive about trying it out at first because of the cost, but now I'm glad I did. It's the only foundation I'll ever use again.

It's helped me a lot, I've noticed my pores aren't clogged, and it doesn't make me break out.
It does cover up very nicely and natural looking. If you want it to look like your not wearing any makeup, opt for the matte finish, thats what I use and its natural looking. You don't need much to cover, so if you do it right using a small amount and get the perfect color match, it will make you look like you aren't wearing any makeup.
What I love about them is they categorize their foundations in the skin tone ranges, so it's easier to pick out which foundations to get. Try the sample kit to start to find your match. The problem with all the powder minerals is many its a copy cat syndrome they are truly all the same, I had horrible luck using them, it was messy and the coverage was not there, its the same old deal it looks great on TV but then you get it and what a let down. It did not last more than a few hours so I was constantly reapplying I had it one evening at a dinner for work and I looked totally un made is you know what I mean. Then about 6 months ago I read a ton of people on MSN boards raving about a new natural company and their amazing liquid mineral foundation and I tried it and IT IS AMAZING its BEE LUSCIOUS COSMETICS and the liquid powder mineral foundation is truly amazing. I never broke out which I did at first with the mineral powders advertised , the bee luscious brand gave me all day coverage with no reapplications at all and it made my skin feel so soft and silky like nothing else out on the market its that amazing.And it lasts my tube is 6 months old and still going strong a little goes a very long way. It simply the best I have found I think you will be very happy and you can trust it won't break you out.

Also it has less harmful ingredients than any other mineral make up. It beats Bare Minerals by one (I think o.o..ehh) .

I would say everyday minerals, b/c you get to personalize your makeup, choose the shade and texture and you can mix w/ other shades to get the perfect skintone. I personally thinks that it looks more natural than maybeline's. If you want perfect skin, you can just spray some fix + Mac, the more you spray, the more powder going to stick on your brush, the higher the coverge and the more perfect of your skin .

Being a professional makeup artist and having tried so many brands and mediums of makeup I can help you narrow this down and make your own choice. Here is a list based off my experience and expertice..........
1) No to Drugstore brands (loreal, maybelline, revlon, neutrogena etc.)........They are loaded with chemicals (including bismuth oxychloride- which is not a mineral but a metal that has been processed with tin and copper, it is well known to cause itching, rash and acne) that can aggravate your skin and break you out. Due to these unneeded chemicals and fillers they also leave your skin looking powdery, cakey, strange and dull and with time will make for an overall unhealthy complexion
2) No to bare escentuals..........this is one company who has waaaay to much hype, most of the time it's from people who have never used anything else so they haven't ried anything better. Bare escentuals uses Bismuth oxychloride which is bad for your skin. (as stated above.) they are also not truthful as they say no preservatives yet they use chemical parabeans in their mineral veil and other formulas. They also use cheap fillers like cornstarch and that is the main ingredient in their mineral veil. Their makeup wears off by midday and looks very greasy and shiny.
Everyday minerals- There is mixed reviews here as I have heard many pros and cons, pros-they don't use bismuth oxychloride and are more pure, (although I have never read their actual ingredients). Cons- they have waaay to many foundation choices, once you get through the color maze then you have to choose a finish (matte, semi-matte, glow), the matte is powdery and flat looking, the semi-mate is blah and does nothing for the skin and the glow looks very shiny and greasy, also there is some talk about it possibly causing breakouts.

well it has two causes...
first though Africa and Asia rich in minerals, they don't have the technology.. so they have to coorperate with western... with profit divident.. let's just say it's 50-50. so they already lost their 50%.

For one thing, neither Africa nor Asia is a country. They are continents composed of many countries, each country looking out for Number One. In most countries, the mining rights are owned by private interests not the governments, and many such interests were established long ago by other nations' empirical policies (The British Empire, for example). Economic profit from such mining does not always stay in that country but is transferred to the mining companies' country of origin or at least to that company. The mining/drilling money that stays in the country is usually in the form of workers wages and taxes, a small percentage of the total wealth. Even in those countries where the governments run the mining/drilling, many of the governments are corrupt and the money goes into the pockets of the leaders, and much the same can be said for the kingdom countries. Factor that in with the many civil wars and natural disasters that these countries are ill-prepared for and it's the common people who suffer.

Corrupt Governments is the reason like the others said...But i think you got it wrong about saudi arabia...Saudi arabia is a rich country and most people there are considered rich..plus...the government is very generous here...No taxes, free health care (they will even send you abroad if the care you need isnt available, all for free, by that i mean hospital, 5 star hotel, tickets and living expenses).Free college education, free schools, oh and even get paid for goign to college, verrrrrry low gas prices, and free government loans, free scholarships for those who want to study abroad plus a monthly salary, Saudi's are also paid pretty well... i could go on and on.......,i dont know where you guys get all this info about our government being corrupt...im not saying there free from all mistakes....but out of 10 i will give them a 9 1/2....
What you're saying is much too simplistic and the explanation is much too involved to answer this question with any intelligence in this forum. Suffice it to say the people that are starving don't have access to the mines and the people (corporations) that do don't like sharing the wealth. The mining/drilling money that stays in the country is usually in the form of workers wages and taxes, a small percentage of the total wealth. Even in those countries where the governments run the mining/drilling, many of the governments are corrupt and the money goes into the pockets of the leaders, and much the same can be said for the kingdom countries. Factor that in with the many civil wars and natural disasters that these countries are ill-prepared for and it's the common people who suffer.

I would wait a few more days and if it doesnt come in a week or so i would ask customer service about it. When you order it comes with a tracking number for the usps website. Just go to http://www.usps.com/ and type in the tracking number and it will come up with a list of where the package has been and where it is now. It has only been 2 days, so be patient.
If you ordered with a credit card, the credit card company will take care of the conversion to Canadian Dollars.

Everyday Minerals...does it dry your skin ?
I have been using a sample of Everday Minerals in matte finish and it seems like it dries out my skin and accentuates any tiny fine lines that I have. Also, it does look makeupy as opposed to some other minerals I have tried. Has anyone else experienced it ? Any thoughts ?Everyday Minerals...does it dry your skin ?
Hi! I agree with the other ladies who answered here. Try using the Original Glow formula, or the Semi-matte if your face is not that dry or you have some oilyness. Exfoliating and moisturizing are helpful too.
As far as fine lines go, you may want to try a slightly lighter shade. The EM website says that if you experience accentuated fine lines, it's most likely because your foundation is a little too dark.
To keep from getting too much coverage from your minerals (and getting that ';makeupey'; look) try using a little tiny bit of foundation and adding more if you need to. If you still get too much foundation on your face, try mixing the foundation with finishing powder to tone it down a little. Because of EM's amazing coverage, I find that my biggest problem is wanting to put on more makeup than I need to, and getting too much coverage!
Minerals are definitely something you'll have to play with until you get your perfect shade, formula, and technique. But once you get your routine figured out, trust me, it's worth it!

Use an exfoliating face wash
Moisturize with Aloe Vera Gel only
Try another foundation formula, ie the Original Glo
Use a finishing powder that won't let the foundation budge - any shade of the BALANCING powder, depending on your skin color

Mk, I've decided I'm going to buy Everyday Mineral products and how great it really is because, EVERYONE tells me it's great... Uh, any suggestions for buying any of their makeup will I need to buy a certain brush for their products? Is it reccomended? I just got the EM sample kit (yesterday) and so far I'm really pleased. They have brushes you can use but I already had brushes from bare minerals, so I didn't need theirs. I got matte and semi-matte. Matte I liked and semi-matte made my skin a little smoother. I have VERY oily skin so I might try matte in summer and semi-matte in winter. The color matched really well. You can put a facial moisturizer on before applying, but I don't have to in the summer. I will in the winter though. The way to apply it is to either sweep on (very light application) or buff in a circular motion (small circles) around your face. A finishing powder (usually a translucent powder) will really set the make-up and look better. P.S. a kabuki brush has heavier coverage so if you only need a light application you can by a large face brush from any make-up section. Even like a walmart. But sephora has good brushes, and bare minerals has GREAT brushes(even thought they shed.) But these are more expensive so go by your budget. I do believe a good brush is key to a great application though. P.S. I loved bare minerals, but BM made bumps EXPLODE on my cheeks and all over my face. It took my skin almost a month to recover. Surf the Everyday Minerals forums (under the community tab) the girls on their are really helpful and have lots of great ideas.
Start by trying their sample kit to find your right color and you can try out different sheens. Also matt/semi/intens/org are good for different types of skin which is also explained under the FAQ section so if you have really oily skin one is better then the rest I just don't remember off the top of my head.
Before I apply make up I wash then apply moisturizer wait for it to dry apply their start to finish primer powder. Then I apply their concealer with a small brush.
You do need a brush to apply their foundations and concealers, you can look at the ones they offer and then find cheaper ones at places like CVS. A medium sized brush is good for applying foundation because you really want to blend it in with circular motions and then a big puffy brush for a soft blush.
Some people like liquid primers, especially if they get oily skin, MAC makes a good one also Mary Kay. If I am applying their eyeshadow as a powder I use a primer but a lot of times I cover my brush with a clear lip balm then put it in the pot of powder, it makes a nice cream that goes on well.
If you want to buy the Everyday Mineral brushes buy them in a kit (their custom kits are any combination of stuff you want, so you can get a few brushes and then they are cheaper then buying separately).

Start by trying their sample kit to find your right color and you can try out different sheens. Also matt/semi/intens/org are good for different types of skin which is also explained under the FAQ section so if you have really oily skin one is better then the rest I just don't remember off the top of my head.
Before I apply make up I wash then apply moisturizer wait for it to dry apply their start to finish primer powder. Then I apply their concealer with a small brush.
You do need a brush to apply their foundations and concealers, you can look at the ones they offer and then find cheaper ones at places like CVS. A medium sized brush is good for applying foundation because you really want to blend it in with circular motions and then a big puffy brush for a soft blush.
Some people like liquid primers, especially if they get oily skin, MAC makes a good one also Mary Kay. If I am applying their eyeshadow as a powder I use a primer but a lot of times I cover my brush with a clear lip balm then put it in the pot of powder, it makes a nice cream that goes on well.
If you want to buy the Everyday Mineral brushes buy them in a kit (their custom kits are any combination of stuff you want, so you can get a few brushes and then they are cheaper then buying separately).

I used bare minerals for 3 years, but my face would still get a little oily as it naturally does halfway through the day. I would just reapply it, touching it up or use oil blotting sheets to try to get rid of the oil. I just started using everyday minerals in semi-matte and I don't even have that problem anymore. I think the medium beige in everyday minerals matches my skin a lot better than the medium beige in bare minerals also. The bare minerals has a more pink color to all of their foundations and is a lot shinier. I also like knowing that I'm not putting the bismuth oxychloride on my skin.

I do, however, love the lip balm that is coffee scented. It comes in a tall white tube, about as thick as your index finger.

I'm actually hapa but I'm a medium beige, which is the color I wear both in everyday minerals and bare minerals! I tried sandy beige but it was just a tiny bit too dark and the golden olive one was super yellow it looked gross to me. You should get the free sample kit and try the medium beige, sandy beige and then pick 1 other that you think would work well. Which one is the best based on both price and quality? I've considered buying pur minerals cause it's a pressed powder, but wasn't sure if pressed or loose powders are best for mineral foundation. The coverage is good, yet it still feels like you're wearing no makeup at all.
I also found it really easy to use, you could literally apply it with your eyes closed and get a flawless, even coverage.
If you buy bare minerals, ccheck out the blushers too..they are gorgeous, as are the crushed eyeshadow minerals. They have so many different colours.

It does go on naturally but I have to have a very good moisturizer underneath before i apply it otherwise it will come on ashy. It lasts a really long time and if you get the Starter Kit it comes with 3 brushes, 2 foundations, All Over Warmth Powder, Mineral Viel and an instructional DVD, all for 60 dollars USD.
I would recommend it if you want to start using mineral foundation. :)

I have been using it for the past 2 years now and i LOVE it!! Its amazing...it makes my skin look flawless, it lasts all day and its all water based so its not bad for ur skin. I really really like it! At least its another option for u to research..hope i helped...=)

I use it and LOVE it!!! it costs $16 for foundation, but its worth it and very high quality for drugstore.
